thanks to my greats, i got a new outfit for church.

check out my new threads. mommy says i'm handsome...and a cutie patootie. i know my bottom half looks big, but mommy has me in a cloth diaper with a double insert (i needed just a bit of cream this morning). a single is big enough, but a double? thanks mom.

thank you greats

my greats went back to albuquerque this morning. i miss her so much. i can't wait to see her again the next time i'm in albuquerque. thanks greats for all the cuddle time and kisses. these are memories that i will have forever. looking forward to making more memories the next time i see you. i love you greats.

ever had one of those mornings?

like my daddy, i can fall asleep anywhere and in just about any position. it's a talent. of course, having my grandma's heating blanket (much needed by greats after our 38-degree night!) under me helped, too.

i love my gampa

i still can't figure out why they all keep making me say goodbye. i was so excited when gampa came to see me on thursday. well, he didn't come just for me - he came to do a wedding. but he did spend some time with us and stayed at our house. i loved hearing his voice again and he made me smile a whole lot! but then, he had to leave today - way too early in my opinion. two days is just not enough time. i guess grammie and the people in albuquerque needed him back. i hate goodbyes!

having fun with greats

my greats is in town for the week and she kept me company on tuesday while daddy worked. i got to have someone with me the entire day and daddy got a lot of work done. to put it simply, my greats is "greaaaaaat!" and i get her for a few more days before she heads back to albuquerque.

my pappa don

on sunday, gampa surprised me by introducing me to the whole congregation at church. i have never seen so many faces all at one time. but i was comforted (and even smiled) when i heard gampa talking...i would know that voice anywhere - strong, secure, and comforting. it was kind of fun being shown off. i guess they are all really proud of me!

after church, mommy and daddy took some quiet time with me to "introduce" me to pappa don. he is my great grandfather (gampa's daddy). i am very sad that i actually will never know him in person as he passed away ten years ago. but mommy tells me stories about him and knows that pappa don would have loved me very much! this is a picture of the three of us at the memorial marker and garden dedicated in memory of him at the church/school (greats and pappa don were members of heights for many years and worked at the school, too). i know that based on all the stories mommy tells me, i really would have liked spending time with pappa don.

i got to spend some time playing this morning in grammie and gampa's backyard before heading back to denver. i enjoyed my time here in albquerque and i'm looking forward to coming back soon.

friends and family

my time in albuquerque was filled with visits. it was the first time my family and friends in albuquerque got to see me. they were all so excited. i met one new face after another. i have never been held by so many people in one evening. i especially like being held by my great grandmothers. they have been waiting and praying for me to arrive for a long time. the only people not pictured here are people from grammie's work. mommy used to work in the same place so they have all been awaiting my arrival. of course, mommy and daddy forgot to bring in the camera during that visit.

this morning before getting ready for church, i saw more balloons right off the back patio of grammie and gampa's house. a wonderful view from the comforts of home.

my first balloon fiesta

this morning at 5:15am, i ventured off with mommy, daddy, grammie, gampa and my new friend elizabeth. we had great weather and the balloons were able lift. so i got to experience my first mass ascension, which is another way of saying all the balloons take off together. imagine seeing up to 700 balloons in the air. i had a great time and we even ran into a good friend that mommy and daddy had not seen in a long time. it was a wonderful morning and one i will never forget. maybe mommy and daddy will bring me here again next year.
