my friend zoe

i have read her blog and heard so much about her. today i finally got to meet zoe in person. zoe is the daughter of mommy's life long friend charlotte (a.k.a charlotte, carey, whatever). zoe is so cute. i did everything i could to impress her. she's half french, which multiplies her cuteness. i'll definitely be keeping in touch with her.

my greats went back to albuquerque this morning. i miss her so much. i can't wait to see her again the next time i'm in albuquerque. thanks greats for all the cuddle time and kisses. these are memories that i will have forever. looking forward to making more memories the next time i see you. i love you greats.

i still can't figure out why they all keep making me say goodbye. i was so excited when gampa came to see me on thursday. well, he didn't come just for me - he came to do a wedding. but he did spend some time with us and stayed at our house. i loved hearing his voice again and he made me smile a whole lot! but then, he had to leave today - way too early in my opinion. two days is just not enough time. i guess grammie and the people in albuquerque needed him back. i hate goodbyes!

my time in albuquerque was filled with visits. it was the first time my family and friends in albuquerque got to see me. they were all so excited. i met one new face after another. i have never been held by so many people in one evening. i especially like being held by my great grandmothers. they have been waiting and praying for me to arrive for a long time. the only people not pictured here are people from grammie's work. mommy used to work in the same place so they have all been awaiting my arrival. of course, mommy and daddy forgot to bring in the camera during that visit.

mommy's high school friend and college roommate, ellen, came to see me today. she came bearing gifts and specifically to see me...i like having visitors especially when the purpose for their visit is me. ellen brought me a very warm and cozy sleeper suit and a set of bibs. those will come in handy during my drool spells. oh yeah, she also brought fresh roasted green chile for mommy and daddy. ellen promises to baby sit me when i get a little older. we had a good time and shared lots of stories.

last night, my grandpa and grandma came into town from texas to see me for the first time. they were so excited since i'm their very first grandchild. in fact, they were were so anxious to see me that they drove 15 hours straight to get here. they got here so late that i was already asleep but mommy and daddy at least let them see me sleeping. boy were they excited when mommy brought me to them the next morning. they even brought me a new toy to play with. we are going to do lots of fun things while they are here over labor day weekend so i can't wait to tell everyone about it.

grammie comes to town

grammie came into town this morning. for the first time, she got to see me and truett at the same time. we all went to the airport to pick her up and then went to breakfast. i think truett and i have her wrapped around our baby-size pinkies. truett and i wished gampa was here too. we miss him and can't wait for him to have us in his arms and teach us both about things like fishing and costco.

lula and me

lula came into town tonight and i got to meet her in person for the first time. for those of you that don't know who lula is, she is mommy's sister, kim. i call her lula since its cooler and both mommy and lula don't like to be called "aunt". mommy's nickname is bobo. i also got to meet my cousin truett. lula has 5 kiddos but truett is the closest to me in age - we're 5 months apart. i can't wait to get into all kinds of trouble with him. i'm sure my other cousin reagan will make us do things that will make mommy and lula nervous...or upset. i love having both lula and truett in town. we're having all kinds of fun. more to come...

today was a big day. at my newborn photo session last week, lora (the photographer) made mommy and daddy a proposition. she was hired to do some promotion shots and a video for rumparooz, a major cloth diaper brand based here in colorado. lora thought that i was so cute and would make a good model for the new "lil' joey" diapers made especially for newborns. so, today was my first official day as a baby model! mommy took me to the studio this morning where lora took lots of pictures of me in the diapers. they kept changing my diaper and i couldn't figure out why - i hadn't even gone potty yet! i guess they wanted to get me in different colors. i even wore a purple one! the still photos will be used on the rumparooz website, as well as other retailer websites.

plus, lora also took some video of me that she will work into the promo video they are shooting for the website. it's being put to a new song by uncle jim (he is actually the guitarist for jimmy buffet, but also does children's stuff on the side).

mommy was so proud that a professional thought i was cute enough to be a model, especially for a great cloth diaper...the ones that she intends on switching me to soon anyway! and we got some free lil' joeys out of the deal, too. so fun! i can't wait to look back on the photos someday and tell all my friends about my modeling debut. now, i am just like my gampa - i am a baby model and he won a baby photo contest! yeah us, gampa!

as if that wasn't enough excitement, i also had some visitors come see me this afternoon. three ladies from my mommy's work wanted to come over and meet me for the first time, as well as bring lunch to mommy. it was great to meet you donna, christie, and hannah. thanks for being so gentle with me and letting me sleep the whole time. and the chinese food was yummy...it added a little kick to mommy's milk tonight and i didn't want to stop nursing! yum, i can already tell i'm gonna like spicy food just like my daddy!
